Jorge Gato and Daniela Freitas are both psychologists. Jorge likes to work with families and is also a post-doctoral researcher in the area of LGBT parenting. Daniela is finishing her PhD about resilience in face of discrimination and bullying. They have been working together at the University of Porto since 2007. It has been an exciting journey. Once they got lost in Berlin but apparently found their way back home (as kind of what they do when they argue about work). Last year they were invited to speak in the Portuguese parliament about LGBT parented families. They did their best, dressed up in sober and respectable clothes, but in the end the bill did not pass. Their rainbow talk will highlight some points conveyed to the members of the parliament, in a more relaxed atmosphere (and clothes).
