GRIT invites you to a screening of Orlando, My Political Biography by Paul B. Preciado, followed by an open discussion and conversation with the audience.

Inspired by Orlando by Virginia Woolf, the film brings together cinematic essay, political manifesto, and testimonies from trans and non-binary people, proposing a reflection on identity, body, gender, and transformation. Through multiple voices and experiences, Preciado revisits Woolf’s character in order to think about the present and imagine other possibilities of existence.

In the current moment, this screening also becomes a space for listening and questioning, where individual experience becomes collective and political.

Following the screening, there will be a moment for conversation and shared reflection, open to everyone interested in discussing the themes raised by the film and their connection to contemporary realities.

An opportunity to watch, reflect, and engage in conversation together.

The activity will take place over two sessions, with the same format and the same film. The session on 28 May will be held in Portuguese. The session on 29 May will be held in English.

O GRIT convida para uma sessão de visionamento do filme Orlando, My Political Biography, da autoria de Paul B. Preciado, seguida de debate e conversa aberta com o público.

Inspirado na obra Orlando, de Virginia Woolf, o filme cruza ensaio cinematográfico, manifesto político e testemunhos de pessoas trans e não-binárias, propondo uma reflexão sobre identidade, corpo, género e transformação. Através de múltiplas vozes e experiências, Preciado revisita a personagem criada por Woolf para pensar o presente e imaginar outras possibilidades de existência.

No atual momento, este visionamento torna-se uma oportunidade de escuta e de questionamento, onde a experiência individual se torna também coletiva e política.

Após a exibição, haverá um momento de conversa e partilha, aberto a todas as pessoas interessadas em discutir os temas levantados pelo filme e em ligação com a atualidade.

Uma oportunidade para ver, pensar e conversar em conjunto.

A atividade terá duas sessões, com o mesmo formato e o mesmo filme. A sessão de 28 de maio será dinamizada em português. A sessão de 29 de maio será dinamizada em inglês.
